Job Description

Function & Control is responsible for the development of seat functions. Team HW safety, is one of the four teams in Function & Control and part of Vehicle Tophat unit within Volvo Car’s R&D division.
Our team purpose is to create the next generation Seat functions as well as improving the current solution.  We also handle quality issues, running changes and model year updates for the seat function ECU’s including Supplier SW and inhouse SW management.

The team has the complete ownership of its components, from concept to industrialization.

The role is varied and will strengthen your knowledge in Seat functions and your skills in design, project planning, sourcing, verification, and analyses.

What you will do
You will work in close colaboration with your team, design engineers, interfacing teams, suppliers, purchasing, manufacturing engineers and other stakeholders within the company to make sure the seat functions fulfills the customer expectations.

You will lead the cross functional team in the development of our products in future cars and be responsible for products in order of time, technique, and cost.
Strategic development plans, design templates, benchmarking, innovation, and advanced engineering will also be a part of your daily work.
Deliverables and responsibilities
o       Responsible for component time, technique, and cost
o       Continuous optimization and improvement to balance cost, weight, performance and quality
o       Manage supplier contacts
o       Determine and maintain the technical design in our area within the given architectural guidelines
o       Secure data in all relevant systems (e.g. Pecca Procost, KDP)
o       Ensure the work is delivered as per specified timing, acceptance criteria and definition

Required qualifications.
o       Fully knowledgeable and able to work independently in Volvos Product Development Processes, Systems and Tools: KDP, Pecca procost, VPC, TcE
o       Experience within Volvo Cars or from automotive industry as a Task leader (GDL/KU)
o       Experience from working with suppliers and working in international environment.
o       Project management skills
o       Self-organizing
o       Technical university degree (or equivalent knowledge from practical experience).
o       Excellent English (written and spoken)

o       Documented experience of hardware/software development, at least 2 years.
