Job Description

Husqvarna Global design is responsible for design and user experience for all products at Husqvarna group, and operate as an internal ’shared service’ (mainly) supporting R&D within new product developpment and digital service developpment.
They have 15.000 products, on 500 different platforms, within 10 different brands at Husqvarna Group. The largest brands being Husqvarna, Husqvarna Construction Products and Gardena.

Global design support 100+ projects /year, and about 50-70 projects at the same time.
Each designer work in 2-8 projects simultaneously.
They are expected to provide timely deliveries, high quality, and contingency i all deliveries. The roles and responsibilities at Global Design are within: Industrial Design (ID), Surface Design (SD), User Experience (UX) and Graphic Design (GD)

Global Design hire 1-4 ID consultants/year, and 3-6 SD consultants/year. Assignments are often yearly, on-site in Sthlm. The tasks are challenging, and requires skilled, experienced and highly motivated designers.

Industrial Designer – Role and Responsibilities
Bachelor degree or Master degree and/or work experience in relevant area.

Top Skills
Develop attractive and innovative design solutions
Efficiently generate high quality 2D concept sketches
Create CAD to Surface Designers
Sketch models and concept models in Alias or Rhino
Visualization
Render and Visualize CAD-models in KeyShot
Incorporate constrains of materials, tooling and manufacturing processes in design process.
Handle communication with SD + R&D regarding technical matters
Develop design solutions according to respective brand design strategy
Drive brand design projects from concept to final production in close co-operation with other disciplines and in accordance with the Husqvarna product creation process (PCP).
Develop ergonomic product solutions
Make recommendations and documents for visual and tactile quality (FFF) requirements on projects
Ensure key customer benefits are communicated through the design
Deliver according to time /budget, be self-directed in completing tasks.
Take initiative with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Lead/participate in frequent design workshops with other designers
Experience from working with at least one larger company, like Electrolux, Scania, Volvo, Ericsson, Atlas Copco and/or working for a larger design consultancy with some key products/customers.
Experience in designing professional and/or consumer products.
