Quality and Test Engineer

Our feature teams work on SW development in Telematics modules and Infotainment Head Units (Android based). All SW needs to pass extensive testing before being released to car projects. During testing and quality assurance of SW, different test objects are used, e.g. standalone Electronic Control Units (ECU’s), test-riggs (sub-sets) and test cars. Test objects need to be frequently updated to latest SW baselines before SW verification can start.

As we are on the very frontline of the cart platform development, test objects, tools used, processes, specifications etc. are very dynamic (subjects to frequent changes) – adding additional complexity to the verification of SW.

Therefore, we need to recruit a test engineer, who can secure that our test objects are updated to latest required SW baselines. In addition to test object updates and maintenance, tasks will include manual and semi-manual testing, and – in time – also test automation development.

Information about the group/team and department:
You will be a part of Telematics and Connectivity group within Connectivity Platform department, responsible for In-Vehicle Infotainment and Connectivity functionality. Our responsibility cover:

Daily tasks and responsibilities:
Part of a scrum team, working agile on backlog items in 2/3 week sprints.Collaborating with other developers/teams in other geos.Reporting of status and progress in JIRA and bi-daily standup meetings

Competence Requirements – Experience and background:
Engineering background involving SW and test development
Linux and Linux tool chain (bash, git, Gerrit, Jenkins)
Agile SW development
Communicative in speech and writing
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Swedish drivers license (B)

Test object updates and maintenance are crucial for our operations, but can sometimes be monotonous and frustrating (“instruction which worked yesterday, isn’t working today”).
