We are now looking for Electrical Component Engineers, to join our product development team within Electrical distribution systems. 

What do we do?
Volvo Group Trucks Technology – Electromobility is the global, strategic center for electrical driveline development within the Volvo Group. Electromobility is one of the main development areas within Volvo Group and was created to be in the forefront of Zero emission transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow.
The Electromobility Distribution and Charging teams within Power Conversion are dedicated to providing world class solutions for transferring energy from the grid to the vehicle and distributing energy from the battery to the electric drive system, delivering end customer value for Volvo business units such as buses, trucks, construction equipment and marine applications. What will you do?
You will move the world towards a better future! Working within the Electromobility department, you will get all benefits from a large and international company but also the benefits you find in a creative startup company. By that we mean that you will have close collaboration with colleagues from different parts of the entity, from sales and purchasing to workshops, labs and software development located close to you. Combine that with having the total ownership of our solutions that span from ideas/concept to industrialization, aftermarket and maintenance! 

We are working in a cross-functional way from hardware concept and design to final verification and implementation in production. In this role you will:
•    Deliver high voltage electrical distribution components together with the team. Our components are such as HV connectors and cables and TV components as fuses and sensors
•    Be a part of driving the development and find solutions for new platform applications following the roadmap
•    Solve challenges in current products and support current platform applications together with the team
•    Be an active part of our team working with the JIRA backlog and use Volvo development and release processes as KOLA, PDM, SE tool etc. 
•    Function within a broad network both within and outside product development
•    Work with customers from all around the world, give them feedback and make sure that they get the technical support needed for the product they have purchased

Who are you?
We believe that you are a team player who is curious and like to develop electrical driveline components in a customer-oriented context. You like to find solutions in both current design application but also thinking about what lays ahead. You like working cross-functional and like to be part of a team. Experience from Electrical vehicle area is meriting.

We believe that you have:
•    Master of Science in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics engineering or equivalent
•    Strong communication skills and proven collaboration skills 
•    Good skills in creating structure in work and coordinate deliveries with different stakeholders
•    Experience in product development preferably within automotive
•    Volvo Group HW release processes and tools (KOLA, PDM, PIL etc.)

Put requirements on the components towards the supplier. Interact with the supplier and manage the work distribution. Have the operational responsibility in the relationship with the supplier. Responsible for recommending the supplier. Evaluate new components and select the internal component. Secure cross-functional and business anchoring. Manage complex components and/or large set of less complex components. Responsibility extended to deliver & execute a Product Strategy Roadmap of the area for few complex components and/or large set of less complex components On Specialist level the employee is a specialist in HW Electrical & Electronics Engineering typically obtained through education and work experience.
