Design engineer working with concept development of powertrain installations within the Analysis & Concept section and the Design & Concept group. In the Design & Concept group we are responsible for developing and designing new concept solutions, which includes identifying and agreeing on design critical targets and functions. They stay updated on engine and hybrid technologies critical for competitiveness. They perform design feasibility studies i.e. we investigate potential design/solution alternatives for new installations and/or functions. They generally do not work with component design in industrialization phase.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Design engineer for advanced engineering projects or concept studies for powertrain systems or subsystems.
  • Catia V5 Mechanical engineering
  • Close cooperation with Concept leader, CAE , test engineers and manufacturing engineers
  • Ensure that the technical documentation (3D Model, 2D drawings, requirements etc ) are released in TCe at the right maturity level and at the right time.
  • Optimize packaging of components towards surrounding environment and defining requirements on surrounding systems / components in order to make the design work as intended.
  • Secure prototype design and manufacturing for demo and test purposes
  • Participate in concept meetings for review of design solutions

 

Krav/Requirements

Required qualifications:

  • Experience of concept design work for internal combustion engine installations or other relevant automotive design.
  • Skilled in CATIA V5 and Team Center Engineering (TCe).
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Technical education at university level or equivalent experience.
  • Internal combustion engine knowledge
  • Knowledge of development processes and related admin systems are preferable
