Test Engineer with EL / MEK

Volvo Cars has a need for a temporary assignment to aid the team with competence in the polymer area of recycled content and circularity.

What you’ll do

As an Analysis Engineer within sustainable materials you will be working with supporting the introduction of recycled plastics and bio-based materials. You will do this by collaborating with the developers, balancing material choices from a sustainability perspective and help designing components for the ability to recycle materials at end-of-life. You will do this by internal requirement setting and working together with procurement. Another important task is understanding the supplier’s offers from a sustainability perspective.

You have very strong communication skills in order to communicate the importance of including sustainability aspects in the design process. You are structured, solution oriented and can take the lead. You are also a true team player with a pragmatic and holistic view. You have a drive to deliver, enjoy interacting with people and understand that collaboration will be key to make real impact.

Meritorious would be:

• Understanding of the complete supplier chain
• Understanding the influence recycled content has on material properties
• Higher degree in chemistry. organic chemistry can be a plus.
• At least two years in research with at least 30% lab work.
• Experience with data analysis.
• Experience in similar role is a plus.

Knowledge:

• Polymer synthesis
• Life cycle analysis and impact assessment
• Recycling technologies
• Automobile Industry or at least polymer manufacturing processes
