Job Description

Request for a resource to a compliance project. The client is seeking an IT Data Developer / Analyst with excellent analytical skills and experience from the financial sector, preferably from payment, financial crime and/or transaction monitoring systems (AML). The person will work in a Nordic based project in the bank and some travelling must be considered.

Tasks:

Conducting the full range of data development and analytical activities. Working within a team.

Required Technical Skills / competencies:

  • Working experience within the areas of payment, financial crime and/or transaction monitoring systems (AML).
  • Proven knowledge of at least two of the following: Python, SQL, DAX, Excel/VBA, R, Scala, C#, Tableau or any other programming language and/or visualization tools used for data analysis.
  • Proven knowledge of Python, Scala, Spark experience – it’s a must have
  • Understanding of the technical requirements for building entity resolution solutions.
  • Understanding of the financial payment flows and financial transactional data in a bank.
  • Understanding of working with risk and compliance cases when conducting analysis.
  • Data modelling experience using data modelling tools like Power Designer / CA ERwin / IBM InfoSphere Data Architect / Python / SQL.
  • Optimize and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects.
  • Implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models in collaboration with data stewards
  • Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and scripts.
  • Ability to analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Understand and translate business needs into technical long-term solutions.
  • Expertise in capturing and documenting business requirements and converting these into the foundation for IT design and development
    Ability to analyze provided data and present the findings / results to PM and business stakeholders

 

Preferable skills /competencies:

  • Understanding of Payment systems technical architecture.
  • Ability to independently carry out and drive technical workshop / activities.
  • Adapts interpersonal style to suit different people or situations.
  • Hands-on database design and modelling experience within single and multi-platform environments.
  • Experience with Quantexa or similar network analysis tools
  • Analytical experience with structured vs. unstructured customer transactional data .
  • Deep understanding of the content and structure of SEPA and Swift cross border messages, both MT and MX (ISO 20022)
  • Backend system validation experience and understanding any dependencies and impacts.
  • Possible experience with external lookup and verification of government owned company and address data.
  • Clarify, document and communicate the functional and non-functional requirements by using data, process or information modelling and drive delivery of a change initiative in alignment with the target picture to enable sustainable solutions.
  • Understand the structure, dynamics, terminology and IT applications of the payment systems and work closely with stakeholders in business, IT and external partners.
  • Experience working with correspondent banking related projects

  • Excellent oral English skills and ability to drive a technical meeting in English
  • Excellent English writing skills and ability to produce precise and relevant written material
  • Being able to facilitate a technical physical or remote Teams meeting with the focus on getting a common understanding and provide results
  • Being able to explain and report technical complexity in a less technical language
  • Managing technical stakeholders to deliver expected results
  • Making a close corporation with the Project Manager driving the project with common stakeholders
  • Agile way of working Knowledge and Application
  • Deals with ambiguity, making positive uses of the opportunities it presents
