Job Description

The client is looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer and Tool Developer to work on test automation and infrastructure development in a technically advanced environment. The assignment begins in the Branch Guards Team, where the focus will be on developing and maintaining the QAST stability testing framework. This framework is essential for ensuring software quality and stability before integration into the main development branch. Together with a team of test engineers, you will ensure that the framework meets the organization’s technical and operational requirements.

After the initial phase, the role will transition to the QA Test Services Team, where you will be responsible for developing and maintaining various test automation tools and frameworks. These solutions are used within the development organization and play a central role in the company’s CI/CD pipelines. The QA Test Services team ensures the evolution of test solutions and supports development teams in implementing test automation. A key aspect of the role is to provide support, training, and guidance to other teams looking to introduce automation into their testing processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and improve the QAST test automation framework to ensure stability and software quality.
  • Collaborate with test engineers in the Branch Guards Team to optimize test strategies and validation processes.
  • Participate in the development of test tools within QA Test Services, including CI/CD-integrated testing solutions.
  • Support development teams by implementing test automation and acting as a mentor for test strategy implementation.
  • Work in a Linux environment, using Python as the primary programming language.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong Python programming skills, preferably with pytest or similar frameworks.
  • Experience in test automation, test framework development, and test environments.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Docker.
  • Understanding of network protocols such as RTSP and HTTP, and experience with embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with log management, analysis tools or visualisation tools such as Kibana and Grafana is an advantage.
  • Experience with AI-based test automation is a plus.
  • Experience with APIs and database management systems
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Swedish.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication skills in both English and Swedish.
  • A collaborative and supportive team player with a passion for sharing knowledge and mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Self-driven, responsible, and proactive with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to understand complex systems and testing needs.
