Power BI – Technical Lead Developer

Technical Lead Developer with extensive expertise in Microsoft Power BI together with strong Power Platform knowledge and preferable some D365 knowledge as well. Experienced in developing solutions using Power BI with a strong business acumen and is familiar with several different technologies related to the implementation of Power BI solutions such as data modelling, general security and MS Fabric. Preferable with many years accumulated experience within architecture and development of business solutions. Participate and drive discussions around complex problems to come up with technical solutions.

This person should be comfortable with being involved in the early phase of solution design and participate in all stages from idea, sketch, requirements specification, functional design, estimation, planning, development, leading other developers in best practice and perform code reviews, testing, documentation and follow-up.

Power BI Lead accountabilities:

Proven retail experience as a Power BI Developer, with a focus on design, develop, test, and implement customized Power BI solutions to address specific business needs and enhance user experiences.
Collaborate with stakeholders and other product teams and their developers to understand requirements and translate them into efficient Power BI solutions.
Utilize the platform to automate repetitive tasks and streamline workflows across different systems and applications. Integrate with other business systems to ensure seamless data flow.
Administer and manage the Power BI environment, including data modelling, entity customization, and security settings to maintain data integrity and accessibility.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for everything they do, including technical specifications, user guides, and training materials.


Your Power BI experience and requirements:

Proficient in Microsoft Power BI, including strong knowledge around the power platform.
Demonstrable experience in building complex data models..
Mentoring, leadership of other Power BI developers in other product teams
Integration of Microsoft products
Building proof of concept and demos
Excellent communication skills
Passion for technology


As a technical lead in the team working with development, deployment, later rollout as well as maintenance, this person needs to be experienced and comfortable of leading developers in product domain groups and responsible for ensuring that all code built on the power platform is delivered on time and quality. This person should make sure that all D365 product domain team developers to have a shared understanding of the project, coding guidelines specifically for power platform, release, expectations for quality, best practice and documentation.

As lead developer you should be used working with Jira and Confluence for collaboration, follow-up, documentation, build and deploy pipelines and code management using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
