Software Engineer
Job Description
Our team owns, develops, and advocates our IDP (internal developer portal): Backstage. This means you’ll be part of:
- onboarding services, designing and developing features, custom plugins and integrations with 3rd party systems
- maintaining installation stable, secure, efficient, and up-to-date
- collaborating with stakeholders, including developers, architects, and infrastructure teams, to understand requirements, gather feedback, continuously improve Backstage, and support them in their onboarding and plugin development
- making code quality improvements
Required skills - Experience with the development of modern, cloud-based, containerized solutions
- Strong JavaScript skills coupled with experience in React and Node.js
- Experienced with relational databases, RESTful APIs, GitHub
- Senior behavior, demonstrating leadership and empowerment towards peers, and strategic thinking about technology
- Comfortable in facilitating and participating in the team discussions and problem solving
Good to have
- Experience with: Docker, Kubernetes, monitoring tools like Grafana or Splunk
- Proficiency in making code quality improvements and ensuring high standards in all development processes
- Collaborating with stakeholders, including developers, architects, and infrastructure teams, to understand requirements, gather feedback, and continuously improve the platform
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, YAML, Kubernetes, GraphQL, Terraform, automated code analysis tools
- Capability to support onboarding services and plugin development
Bonus for the extra
- Knowledge or experience of Developer Portals like Backstage
- Azure certification
